Following are some of the travel options:

  1. Tuk Tuk : These are cheapest options available for getting from one place to another. Tariff varying from 20-100 Baht.
  2. Taxi: Motor Bikes are referred as taxi and take you from one place to another. The tariffs are higher than Tuk Tuk and vary from 50-200 Baht. Take this option if you want to beat traffic.
  3. Cab: These are metered ones and are generally preferred for long routes. Toyota Corolla, Innova or Camry are some of the options available. Not suggested for 1st road on beach.
  4. Rent a Vehicle: You can rent a vehicle in Pattaya. Cheapest option is un-geared scooter that cost 300 Baht per day.  There are other options including some swanky cars and superbikes.

There are plenty of vendors on streets for renting out vehicles.

Car Safety/Tool Kit

This documentation is about a safety kit that should be available in our cars.

I am not covering the “Why Safety Kit” in this document as there are numerous scenarios one can think for keeping safety kit in your car.

Nowadays, cars are shipped with a limited tool kit capable of changing a tire.

However, the following must always be present in your toolkit:

  1. Screw Driver: Medium size reversible.
  2. Pliers.
  3. Electrical tape.
  4. Torch
  5. Traffic Hazard Triangle.
  6. First Aid Kit.
  7. Wire: (Two) with lengths enough to connect battery of one car to another.
  8. Fuses: Although these are shipped with car; keeping a few extra is doing no harm.
  9. Life Hammer: Read more about Life Hammer – https://allzhere.wordpress.com/2012/12/03/life-hammer/
  10. Fire Extinguisher.

The above tools are very basic ones but can be a life saver.

So before buying funny smiley balls, steering handles, mobile holders, etc. for your convenience; consider safety first!!

Remember, you can’t get home, unless you’re safe.

Life/Safety Hammer

  1. A car safety emergency hammer allows people to escape from being trapped in vehicles by cutting jammed seat belts and breaking car windows.
  2. It’s essential as we find the most sophisticated cars catch fire due to a short circuit.
  3. Also, it can be very handy for females and senior citizens considering the force that’s required to break out a car window using your elbow.
  4. Similar products are also found in trains and buses for escaping during an emergency.
  5. Although I couldn’t find any seller in India, one such product is available at Amazon.
  6. Check out link of a company offering this product: http://www.lifehammer.com/index.html
  7. You can find multiple demo videos of emergency hammers on http://www.youtube.com.
